The NHL has a new birthday on Feb. 21, 2019, with three special birthday cards to celebrate the birthdays of some of its greatest stars.
The first card, entitled “The Birthday Card”, was sent to the Toronto Maple Leafs’ Connor McDavid, the NHL’s first first pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.
It was signed by Leafs president Brendan Shanahan, the son of Leafs President Brendan Shanahan.
The second card, titled “The First Birthday Gift”, was given to the Washington Capitals’ Ryan Johansen.
The cards are being sent to players who were drafted between the ages of 17 and 20.
The third card, which is a handwritten tribute to the late Toronto Maple Leaf Alex Trebek, was signed to Penguins captain Sidney Crosby by Pittsburgh Penguins president David Morehouse.
The two cards were presented to the hockey world by Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert, who is also the head of hockey operations for the Toronto Raptors.
The NHL’s birthday card is one of the most coveted in the league, and the league’s fans have been asking for it for years.
In a year when a lot of other sports have changed, the card is being sent out to players at a time when they’re still trying to figure out what the future holds for them.
The cards, and their fans, are going to be a huge part of how the NHL celebrates its birthday on February 21.
