Happy Birthday, baby boy.
You’re just about to become a dad.
That means you’re going to get a new birthday theme, right?
Well, that’s not true.
A new theme can be a big life changer for a child.
This is the case for a 10-year-old named Benjamin, who is currently celebrating his birthday.
“I love Christmas.
It’s the best time of year to be a kid.
So I have this big Christmas tree, and I like that,” Benjamin told ABC News.”
I have so many Christmas decorations.
I like to sit in my room and watch the fireworks.
I get excited.
It makes me feel good.
I love it.”
For Benjamin, that feeling of joy and happiness comes at a price.
He’s living with cerebral palsy, a chronic condition that affects his ability to walk and move.
He can’t walk on his own and needs to have his left arm strapped down to his back to help him walk.
Benjamin said his dad is the reason he loves Christmas.
I love the thought of him watching me from his wheelchair.
I just want to sit on his lap and hug him.
I think that’s the most important part of Christmas.
I want him to be happy.
Benjamin said he thinks he’ll have a new Christmas theme when he gets older, but not this year.
“It’s like he’s got another Christmas theme coming out,” he said.
“This year I think I’m going to have a little bit more Christmas lights and a little more decorations.
It will be just like last year.”
Benjamin’s mother, Sara, said Benjamin has been a good boy.
She said she and her husband are planning on celebrating Christmas with Benjamin at home.
“Christmas is the time to be kind to each other, to be supportive and to do what we need to do to get through the year,” Sara said.
Happy birthday Benjamin.
